Less of a problem if the stations have them. Some do, some don't, though I can't say for sure on this line in particular.

Thinking about it, none of the tubes/trains that already run between the Crossrail stations have toilets on them anyway do they?

Re: Crossrail delayed by 9 months.
Associating train toilets with lavatories will soon ruin the word lavatory for you.

If they they worry about toilets displacing passengers, they must be planning to cram them in.
Considering how much we pay for the dubious privilege of travelling to work, we should be demanding better.

Lack of bogs nothing to do with security. They estimated toilets on the trains would "displace" about 600 people per train if I remember correctly, i.e. Fewer seats therefore less income

I'm sure Jimmy Saville made some adverts for british rail in the early 80's. Something like 'this is the age ........of the train' not sure how he found the time

Re: Crossrail delayed by 9 months.
The main problem with London Underground is enough access time to complete work. Sunday to Thursday night you get average 4 hours. Friday ,Saturday average 6 hours. The fines for over-runs of work when i was there were 10k per minute

A bit like some of the teething problems with the OS, in the scheme of things a few months is fuck all for the largest engineering project in Europe

Re: Crossrail delayed by 9 months.
Each tube line has it's own signalling system although some are duplicated between lines, that's why certain tubes can't cross over to other lines, I believe it's full ATO on the Jubilee, Victoria and Central lines but not on the others?
